2,748 new city heritage websites registered in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH — The Heritage Fee introduced on Monday the registration of two,748 new city heritage websites on the Nationwide Register of City Heritage, bringing the overall to 36,919 registered websites.

The newly registered websites span a number of areas of the Kingdom, together with 635 in Makkah Area, eight in Japanese Province, 1,729 in Asir Area, 35 in Northern Borders Area, 340 in Al-Baha Area and one in Hail Area.

The Heritage Fee emphasised that this step is a part of its strategic plan to broaden authorized safety for heritage websites, help their rehabilitation and funding, and spotlight their historic and concrete significance.

The fee urged the general public to help its efforts to establish and doc heritage websites by reporting them by means of the “Archaeological Report” service, through its official social media channels, or by calling the Unified Safety Operations Middle at 911.
