RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Protection Ministry stated Monday that two drones trying to assault the Ras Tanura oil refinery have been intercepted and destroyed.
Protection Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki stated the interception operation led to falling particles, which induced a restricted hearth however no civilian accidents.
He added that particles fell close to civilian services and residents through the interception.
In a separate assertion, an official supply on the Ministry of Power stated that at 7:04 a.m. Monday, the Ras Tanura petroleum refinery sustained restricted injury resulting from particles ensuing from the interception of two drones within the neighborhood of the power.
The supply stated the particles induced a minor hearth that was instantly contained by emergency response groups. No accidents or fatalities have been reported.
Some operational items on the refinery have been quickly shut down as a precautionary measure, the supply added, however petroleum provides and derivatives to native markets weren’t affected.
