Saudi Arabia expels Iranian navy attachés over ongoing assaults

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia introduced the expulsion of Iranian navy attachés and embassy employees, declaring them persona non grata and ordering them to go away the Kingdom inside 24 hours, the Ministry of Overseas Affairs mentioned Saturday.

In an announcement, the Kingdom reiterated its sturdy condemnation of what it described as Iran’s blatant and repeated assaults focusing on Saudi Arabia, GCC states and various Arab and Islamic international locations.

The ministry mentioned Iran’s continued focusing on of Saudi sovereignty, civilian infrastructure, financial pursuits and diplomatic premises constitutes a transparent violation of worldwide legal guidelines, ideas of fine neighborliness, the Beijing Settlement, and UN Safety Council Decision 2817 (2026).

Saudi Arabia mentioned it had formally notified the Iranian navy attaché, assistant navy attaché, and three different embassy employees members to go away the Kingdom inside 24 hours.
