Why visit the Eastern Province
The Eastern Province offers Gulf waterfronts, modern city breaks, cultural institutions and access to Al Ahsa Oasis. Dammam and Al Khobar work well together, while Dhahran’s Ithra is a major cultural stop.
Suggested itinerary
Use one day for Al Khobar and the waterfront, another for Dhahran and Dammam, and reserve a full day for Al Ahsa if travel time allows. Families can add parks, beaches and indoor attractions according to the season.
Getting around
The metropolitan area is spread across several connected cities. A rental car, licensed taxi or ride-hailing service is usually practical. Rail links connect the region with Riyadh.
