RIYADH— The Transport Normal Authority (TGA) has proposed a draft modification to the schedule of violations and penalties for the manager rules governing taxi and passenger transport brokerage actions.
The authority’s proposal is to amend the effective for people working a non-public automobile and not using a license to SR2,600 for violations associated to public transportation and airport fares.
The amendments aimed to activate the deterrent penalties stipulated within the rules, which fall below the jurisdiction of the Committee for Reviewing Grievances and Violations of the Land Transport Legislation.
These penalties embrace deportation for non-Saudi drivers who violate the provisions of the regulation and the manager rules governing taxi and passenger transport brokerage actions, and publicizing the penalty within the native media on the expense of the offender in case of the repetition of the violation for the primary time.
The draft regulation grants the authority to impose penalties, and proposed amending the related paragraph to learn as under: “The Committee for Reviewing Grievances and Violations of the Land Transport Legislation shall be chargeable for imposing the next penalties: fines exceeding SR10,000; violations associated to public taxi operations, together with people making ready to move passengers in personal autos and not using a license; violations associated to airport taxi operations, together with people transporting passengers in personal autos with out licenses (for non-Saudi violators); suspension of the license, both partially or fully, for a interval not exceeding one 12 months; and suspension of the driving force, the automobile, or each, for a interval not exceeding one 12 months.”
