NEW YORK — The United Nations, on behalf of Saudi Arabia and France, has adopted a call verbally, by consensus and not using a vote, concerning the resumption of actions for holding the Convention on the Two-State Answer. The proposal for holding the high-level worldwide convention on a peaceable settlement of the Palestinian problem and attaining the two-state answer was offered by Saudi Arabia’s Everlasting Consultant to the United Nations Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasil on the UN Normal Meeting session on Saturday.
In his speech, Ambassador Al-Wasil affirmed the shared dedication between Saudi Arabia and France to supporting the rule of worldwide regulation and implementing related UN resolutions. He stated that the first goals of the convention are to safeguard worldwide legitimacy and take sensible steps towards attaining lasting peace within the Center East.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron will co-chair the Convention on the Two-State Answer in New York on September 22. Saudi Arabia, alongside France and a broad coalition of worldwide companions, had introduced the suspension of the UN Convention on Palestine, scheduled to be held on the UN headquarters in New York on June 17-20.
Saudi Arabia believes that alternatives for safety and prosperity within the area start with attaining justice for the Palestinian folks and attaining their reliable rights, foremost amongst them is the institution of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
